A Designer's Journal
A weekly practice of mine to continue to push myself as an artist is to draw a graphic or image entirely freehand at least once a week. While a lot of these designs were drawn just for fun and experimentation, a lot of these were drawn while in church; taking an idea or group of ideas from the sermon and then generating a drawing within that 40min teaching period. I love the challenge and it helps me reframe the concepts being taught in a visually tangible way.
Over time the designs have gotten increasingly more complex to push myself both technically and stylistically. I hope you enjoy this running collage of my favorite drawings from a couple different journals and sketchbooks with drawings dating from 2019 to present.
*This is a photoshopped collage of exclusively freehand designs that were created first-draft with no prior sketching. They are only photoshopped and rearranged to best protect the privacy of my written entries and are not doctored in any inaccurate way.*
